Celebrating You!

“The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, [saying], Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee (Jer. 31:3).”  Aren’t you glad to know that you’re loved by God?  It dawned on me (although this isn’t the first time) that life is simply too short to be any place where you’re not celebrated… only tolerated.  It makes no sense to try to fit in, to try to be included, to try to weave ourselves into social patterns that simply aren’t ready for us.

I’m glad God made me as He did–not seeking the approval of man, not desperately seeking friendships, not wanting to be in the know or in the in-crowd.  I don’t have the need to be constantly attached to anyone.  Yet, I see people desperately wanting to be included in circles that have no interest in them.  I’ve seen people remain at churches that seem to have no real interest in them, pushing them aside for the more successful, more talented, or bigger tither.  It just seems that if no one has a real interest in your being around, there are plenty of places and people that will appreciate and embrace you.  Go where you’re celebrated, not just tolerated!  To one group you may be ‘nobody’ but to another you’re just the ‘somebody’ they need and would embrace.  Life’s too short to feel brushed over, used, abused and unappreciated.  There’s no need to be anywhere that constantly beats up on you.  It (abuse) can happen for such a  long time that we think that’s the way it should be, or that’s the way it is everywhere–that this is normal.  Not so.  There are actually groups and people that demonstrate lovingkindness and are inclusive… not exclusive.  Get out and get over there and let the celebration begin!  Wonderful you.  Thank you for visiting, subscribing.

    Right on 🙂

  2. You know you are soo right girl! When I think about it… Jesus didn’t do most of his preaching in synagogues with the high status pharisees that had a bone to pick with him. He went and spoke to the nobodies out there in the marketplaces, in the city in the countryside who lived without status symbols and He even chose the unknowns to be His disciples. God isn’t looking for people who esteem in themselves higher than others, He is looking for the ones that esteem others higher than themselves. That’s what it means to be selfless and not full of puffed up pride and selfish-ambition. Thank you for sharing that. I celebrate a God that includes everybody, that died for everyone and is not one that is exclusive to a specific group. Jesus must have made the Pharisees mad when He went so far as to include the gentiles in His message of Love. God’s Love seeks the pure in heart and its what’s on the inside of a person that counts, but many people forget that. May we repent of times when we exclude others when God hasn’t written them off. God bless you sis for this message 😀 I celebrate you for sharing this.

The Church has a ways to go to understand this message.

    • Amen! You’re preachin’… and yes, we must repent. Who do we really think we are anyway? Your thoughts remind me of this verse… “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord (Acts 3:19);” Thank you for taking the time to comment. =))
