Celebrate Christ?

Anyone consider making Christ the focal point of this holiday season?  How about the masses that follow Christ… is anyone making CHRIST-MASS about Christ?  I’m not telling you not to buy anything… just because it’s December 21 and I’ve purchased nothing.  I like giving gifts to others and it’s sometimes nice to receive gifts as well.  But as I’ve told many, you don’t need to get me anything.  It’s not MY birthday.  All those gifts… all that re-gifting…  I already have three of these…  I hate burgundy…  What am I supposed to do with this?  Don’t forget a gift for Suzy.  Oh, and Jay’s kids too.  Oh gosh, I’m going broke… this is no fun.  It just seems to take all the fun out of it when your list continues to grow, is in fact overgrown… while your funds are stuck in ‘preemie’ stage.  Don’t wanna leave anyone out after all; it would be embarrassing to overlook someone–$1000+ later… Think I’ll celebrate the true reason for the season and keep my money in my pocket.  Allow me to celebrate the birth of Christ… then when it’s your turn, I’ll celebrate your birthday as well.   One of the two most significant events of all time… I dare not interweave myself into the picture at this stage.   I understand this may not work out too well for you if you have children within certain age groups.  And I’m certainly glad my parents were not so spiritual that we couldn’t enjoy a festive Christmas with gifts and all the trimmings.  I don’t think we asked for everything under the sun like children do today.  The gifts have gotten a lot more expensive too. I wanted a bicycle and an Easy Bake Oven.  Today’s children want the newest cell phone, iPhone, iPod, iPad, laptop, XBox, etc.  I guess all I’m saying is keep Christ in Christmas–please and thank you.  Indeed, He must be the center of our celebrations.

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6).”  Thanks for visiting.  Thanks for subscribing/following.  Take care & be blessed…  Please also visit… www.xtreme-fire.com
