Hold On to Your Dream!

Langston Hughes wrote, “Hold fast to your dreams.  For if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly.”  Whatever you do and no matter how long it takes to materialize, hold fast to your dreams.  Let no one steal your enthusiasm.  Many well-meaning colleagues and haters alike will attempt to put out your fire concerning your dream.  Never let it die.  Often timing is a concern and it may be that now is not the right time to go full-fledge in the direction of your dream (for various reasons).  But take actionable steps, however small, in that direction.  Don’t worry if most don’t believe in you; neither did Sugar Ray Leonard’s wife before his big breakthrough–or many other stars who’ve shared similar stories.

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them (Ephesians 2:10).”  God has given us a remarkable ability to dream, to imagine, to envision but it’s up to us to formulate a plan to make our dreams become a reality.  Someone else said, “If you can imagine it, you can achieve it.  If you can dream it, you can become it.”  We must see ourselves living our dream in order to make it a reality.  Ask God for His direction, wisdom, and timing.  Meanwhile, acquire all the information and knowledge that you can on your own… realizing that the anointing of God can take you places your educational accomplishments cannot.  And when you get where you’re going, turn around and help someone else come up.  Know that you know that you were created in His image and were created for success.  If you’ve got a plan, and you’ve got God in it, watch out world! Get a bull-dog grip on that dream of yours and don’t let go under any circumstance!
