Be the Church!

praying manJust a quick thought… Our world needs a lot of healing but it must begin with the church. We’re sinking to unprecedented “lows.” Healing must start with the called out, Holy Spirit filled, baptized believers.  “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land (II Chron. 7:14).”  We’re holding up the healing–not the sinner, not the politician, not the liberal, not the White House but the church house.  One look around… at all of the violence, murders, the hatred, incidents and accidents should rally the church to fall on our knees and cry out to a merciful God.  Without God, it will only get worse.

Our current state is the result of our spiritually fragmented mind.  We’re not sure if we want to follow Christ closely or at a distance.  So we beckon Him near…and then send Him away.  We compartmentalize Him–saying, I need You to work in this situation.  However, please don’t interfere in that one. Unfortunately, there are a few too many voices speaking for the majority that do not represent the mind of the majority.  The church must unite as one voice and invite God into our communities, to change our hearts and our dreadful situations.  Help us, Lord, to stand up and be the church…and not just go to church.  Help us to pray and seek your face and to be a light in a dark world.

Thank you for visiting, following, subscribing.  Take care and be blessed.  His choicest blessings in 2015 are yours.

Very well explained and, sadly, so true. May the Lord help each one of us to desire Him in every aspect of our lives.
