“Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” -Matthew 1:23
We celebrate the birth of our LORD and Savior, Jesus Christ, who became flesh and dwelt among us. The living Word…living with us. Thank God for Mary’s submission to His plan and for God the Son’s fulfillment of prophecy in every way. He came to die that we might live…that we might have eternal life (John 3:15), have abundant life (John 10:10), and live a holy life (Hebrews 12:14). And not only did He die, but God the Father raised Him from the dead with all power. We, too, who were once dead in trespasses and sins have been made alive. “And you [hath he quickened], who were dead in trespasses and sins (Ephesians 2:1).”
Not only are we alive as new creatures, but we have been given power over all the power of the enemy. God with us! We can’t make it without Him! Each day more evil than the day before. Each act of crime more heinous than the one before. Each news report more dreadful and hopeless than the one before. We need God with us! Yet, we try desperately to box Him out …when we should be desperately trying to reel Him in. He wants to tabernacle with us. Let us not make His coming of no effect. Rather, let Earth receive her King! Take care and be blessed. Merry CHRISTmas! Thanks for visiting, following, subscribing.
