“For the LORD God [is] a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good [thing] will he withhold from them that walk uprightly (Ps. 84:11).” What God has for you… it IS for YOU! It is pointless to be jealous over what the next person has or can do.
Many times we waste an enormous amount of energy on “hating” what others have that we don’t, what others can do that we don’t believe we can do as well, how others look, the financial status of others, etc. But when we really understand that God has a plan for each one of our lives, we really won’t bother to focus on what the next person has… but instead will spend time in the presence of the LORD thanking Him for what He’s already done and anticipating His next steps for us.
When we have the right motives and continue to delight ourselves (be happy, satisfied) in Him, He will give us the desires of our heart (Ps. 37:4). When our desires line up with God’s desires for us, we absolutely can have whatever we want because it will also be what He wants. “Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume [it] upon your lusts (James 4:2-3).” Instead of spending time and energy resorting to shady tactics in an attempt to block the next person’s blessing while at the same time attempting to bless ourselves, our time would be better served focusing on what God would have us to do, and encouraging each other and encouraging ourselves to do what God has called each of us to do.
“Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full (John 16:24).” At the core, it may be that we don’t trust God or don’t believe He loves us as much as the next person. We believe He can do it but not necessarily for us.
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you (Matt. 6:33).”
God-Sis, you’re sharing a great lesson for everyone. Even the wisdom of Solomon had him to teach us in S.of S. 8:6 – “Jealousy is as cruel as the grave.” Thank God that He has more than enough for us…….
Sometimes we do not say it enough, but your smiling words, lift the heart and spirit of many! Especially mine! God is the beginning strength of all our future relationships in the world, when we lay down self and embrace His love we are renewed within in a great and awesome way. The love we receive teaches us to share with others and we grow so beautifully in His spirits glow! You have visited me often dear sister and I wanted to thank you for the blessing of that spiritual love you share! God bless you and your family!
Blessings to you as well. And thank you for your kind words and awesome blogs. Continue in His service! =))
