“Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water (John 4:10).”
If only we knew. Many of us really don’t know who’s standing right in front of us. If we knew, certainly we’d be asking for something–namely, for the living water.
“Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life (John 4:13-14).”
Don’t hold back, Jesus. Just say how you really feel. The water that we have is sub-optimal! It’ll do for a quick fix; but we’ll soon be thirsty again.
“The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw (John 4:15).”
Hats off to her. She realized that she didn’t have what she actually needed. Unfortunately, many of us are still going on as if we have it all together. Everyone knows we don’t but us. He’s offering us living water…. we’re saying, that’s ok… Market Pantry water is good enough for me. Lord, help us to see that You have what we need and that we’re actually nothing without You. Help us to recognize our lack and request the living water. Put in us a thirst for You! Come and quench this thirsting of my soul. Bread of heaven, feed me til I want no more. Here’s my cup, fill it up, and make me whole. Give me this water!
Thanks for following, visiting, subscribing. Take care & be blessed…
Amen, Sis……! Lord, keep filling my cup…….!
Amen. Lord, never let us run dry. Continue to refresh and renew us with the Living Water! Bless you, Sis!
Wow, I just wrote an article on thirst even before I read yours. I suppose He is putting similar messages on many of His servant’s hearts. 🙂
God Bless
Amen! What an awesome God we serve! He tends to do that. And I love it. Confirmation indeed. Blessings to you!
