Who’s Tryin’ to Steal My Inheritance?

“And he said, Is not he rightly named Jacob? for he hath supplanted me these two times: he took away my birthright; and, behold, now he hath taken away my blessing. And he said, Hast thou not reserved a blessing for me?  And Isaac answered and said unto Esau, Behold, I have made him thy lord, and all his brethren have I given to him for servants; and with corn and wine have I sustained him: and what shall I do now unto thee, my son?  And Esau said unto his father, Hast thou but one blessing, my father? bless me, [even] me also, O my father. And Esau lifted up his voice, and wept (Gen. 27:36-38).”

Imagine this… Actually, I can’t.  Jacob was quite the trickster… with the help of his mother.  I’m confident in knowing that what God has for me it is for me.  I’m not concerned with who’s trying to steal my blessing; but I am certain that I serve a just God.  “For the LORD God [is] a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good [thing] will he withhold from them that walk uprightly (Ps. 84:11).”  He has plenty for you and me.  In fact, the cattle on a thousand hills are His (Ps. 50:11).  Therefore, we need not fear lack.  And there is no need to scratch and claw our way to the top or resort to deceitful tactics.  The blessing belongs to us and no one can steal it.  All we need do is remain committed to Christ, the Living Word, and follow His precepts.  “And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God (Deut. 28:2).”  No need to worry… Wait on Him and be of good cheer… He will strengthen your heart (Ps. 27:14).

“Ain’t nobody mad, ain’t nobody sad, ain’t nobody feelin’ bad, but the devil.”  …Not quite sure where it originated but you can still hear it chanted in Pentecostal circles.  Thanks for visiting, subscribing/following.
