Thanksgiving! What an awesome holiday and time of sharing with family and friends–no gifts, gimmicks, just good times with relatives and friends. I love it. Although this one will be very low key for us, I intend to spend it first in morning worship at church and then back home for a day of relaxing, cleaning and a little eating. I won’t be overdoing anything –other than putting an extra praise on Him! Of course, we can never overdo that… for no matter how much we praise, no matter how intensely we worship, we still merely scratch the surface of what He truly deserves. “If you love Him then you ‘oughta’ put a praise on Him!”
“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, [and] into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, [and] bless his name. For the LORD [is] good; his mercy [is] everlasting; and his truth [endureth] to all generations (Ps. 100:4-5).”
We have so much to thank God for. I’m thankful for my relationship with God through Jesus Christ; for the indwelling Holy Spirit; for husband, daughter and new son; for family and true friends; health and strength (never take for granted); His grace, mercy, peace, joy and love; church family; pastor; opportunities and good times; provision; employment; trials that make me alert and stronger in Christ and life; freedom to praise and worship the true and living God; I could go on. What are you thankful for? Happy Thanksgiving! God’s choicest blessings!
