He Shall Fight for You…

“And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.  The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace (Exodus 14:13-14).”

The Word of the Lord is sent, among other things, to encourage us.  It’s encouraging to know that God will fight our battles.  We simply must stand still and watch how miraculously He moves on behalf.  While we’re standing, it wouldn’t hurt to bless Him.  We were created, after all, to praise & worship Him … and to make it glorious!

Thank you, Lord, for battles already won, for victory in the midst of trials and  for your mercy and grace.  I like where it says, “ye shall see them again no more for ever.”  I have a few problems that I’d like to ‘see again no more forever.’  But I thank God that we don’t need to raise our voices, except in praise, that we don’t need to get out of character and don’t need to display an unpleasant attitude–but that we can allow Him to keep us in perfect peace as we keep our minds stayed on Him and trust Him (Isaiah 26:3).  I believe God!  The devil is a liar (lie), and one evangelist said,  ‘and so is his mother-in-law!’

And so as we go through our tests and trials, know that we’re not alone in going through (we all have trials) and that God is right there with us.  I Peter 4:12 tells us, “Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:”  Instead, we are told to rejoice.  And we can easily do this if we understand that God is going to bring us out victoriously.

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness (Isaiah 41:10).  Thank you, Lord, for the encouragement found in your Word.  Thanks for visiting.

Posted this to my Facebook page! Something we should never forget, and yet we do.

Do you think there are situation where we need to raise our voice to get our point across? And this is a little off subject but what is your position on self defense? What does the Bible say? This question keeps coming up in my Sunday school class and I tell them if someone puts their hands on you then you have the right to defend yourself????

  4. There ‘could’ be times when an elevation is necessary (a firmness in the voice depending upon who we’re speaking with and the situation) but not as a result of our getting out of control ourselves. I believe it’s many times just as effective to ‘lower’ your voice and get the same point across.
I’ll need to do some study on this other but… but without scratching too deeply, according to the scriptures… the people defended themselves and were advise to do so many times… And when Peter was reprimanded (Matt. 26) about his sword, he wasn’t told to throw it away, just to put it up… that wasn’t the time to use it.

OT: “Blessed be the LORD my strength which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight,” (David writes in Psalms 144:1).

“If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him (Exodus 22:2),”

“They which builded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with those that laded, every one with one of his hands wrought in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon,” we’re told in. “For the builders, every one had his sword girded by his side, and so builded.” -Nehemiah 4:17-18

NT: Luke 22:36: “Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.”

    nice start…
