No…It’s You! You’re the Problem

At the risk of telling too much, I’m compelled to share this.  For as long as I can remember, I’ve noticed, that men, on occasion, tend to have some very interesting aromas when it comes to their feet.  A long and hard day’s work can produce a set of very aromatic paws!  Believe me, I know what I’m talking about.  On several occasions, I’ve sniffed expecting to find a deceased animal of several days or so, only to trace the aroma to a set of live human paws.  When confronting the fragrant, usual suspect, he usually sprays “my way!”  Of course, my response is usually, “Don’t spray my nose… that’s not the problem.  Spray your feet.”  Isn’t that how we view and react to our sin also?  We want to “spray the next person” when the problem is actually us.  Really, we should concentrate on the sin problem in us; but we choose rather to view it as someone else’s problem.  The problem is not the next person’s nose–it’s our funky aroma (sin). Therein lies the problem.   “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (I John 1:9).” No… it’s you!  You’re the problem.
