Favor Ain’t Fair!

Favor really isn’t fair–that’s why it’s called favor!  We’d all like to think that we’re God’s favorite but when He actually shows us favor, it blows our mind and makes our heart sing.  At least, it does mine.  He’s shown me plenty. Remember Felix the Cat?  “Whenever he gets into a fix, he reaches into his bag of tricks.” Funny.  God doesn’t have a literal bag of tricks, but He’s definitely there when I’m in a fix.  I make one simple call (without dialing) and God’s on it:  showing me He cares, supplying my needs, healing my body, restoring me, revealing Himself to me, revealing me to me, stilling my accusers, preparing a table before me in the presence of my enemies.  He’s just awesome!  We don’t deserve it; yet He freely gives it.  “Because thy loving kindness [is] better than life, my lips shall praise thee (Ps. 63:3).”  I, personally, can’t afford NOT to praise Him!  Thank you, God, for your unmerited favor–and for your mercies that are renewed every morning.  I’m grateful.  Help us to show that same grace to others in need of it and to allow our light to shine, pointing others toward You.
