Mercy Me

I’m glad that I serve a merciful God… a God who patiently waits for us to get it together. True, we are living in the last days and His coming is nigh. The world can’t understand it; and many don’t want to understand it but are willingly ignorant, choosing rather to continue in sin with no plans for repentance. “Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as [they were] from the beginning of the creation (II Peter 3:3-4).”

Because of the mercy of God, because he is longsuffering, because His desire is that we all are saved, Christ’s return is not yet come. He could come now but many of us would be lost, very lost, eternally lost. Friends, family, co-workers…many would be lost. “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day [is] with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (II Peter 3:8).” Don’t think for one moment that He’s confused, disorganized, or that He doesn’t know what He’s doing. The problem is actually what WE’RE doing.

We’d be wise to use this as a time of preparation. We can’t figure out God’s timing and what a waste of energy to try. Others have tried to predict Christ’s return and all done so with complete error. Our time would be better served getting ourselves together, and compelling others to do the same. Take care & and be blessed. Please also visit…

Amen, God-sis! The days are more evil than they have ever been as well as people. And as one of my favorite songs from long ago says, “I want to live so God can use me anytime and anyway.” I certainly don’t want to leave this earth without winning souls for Christ….

  2. This arrived by email after I’d gone to minister to a friend late morning. Before that I’d written about politicians’ ‘willing ignorance’ re militant Islam in reply to a blog thread. Interesting you used the same term, Sharanelle. Bless you
