Sin... Oops

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God (Rom. 3:23).”  Let’s face it… we’ve done a lot more than simply “missed the mark!”  We’ve blown it big time.  In fact, we weren’t even aiming for “the mark.”  We had no interest in it, electing instead to go in the opposite direction.  We chose to do our own thing.  We made a conscious decision to rebel against God.  We tossed our darts elsewhere…  at an entirely different board.  We never intended to line up with His Word but were proud to say, “I did it my way.”  We turned our hearts and minds away and turned our backs toward God.  He wanted to gather us like a mother hen gathers her chicks but we wouldn’t have it (Luke 13:34).  For most of us, it wasn’t until we experienced a serious ‘crash & burn’ that we decided to take a look at what God had to offer.  ”But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Rom. 5:8).”  What a God!  He didn’t even wait for us to get it together first… but while we were yet sinners, he paid it all.  It’s His love that draws us.  What an awesome God we serve.  ”Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee (Jer. 3:13).”  So go ahead and love Him back and praise Him continually for His marvelous works and his lovingkindness, mercy and grace.  ”Let the redeemed of the LORD say [so], whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy (Ps. 107:2).
